Rockhouse Mountain Productions

Rockhouse Mountain Productions is a mixed media production company based in northern New England.  We specialize in place-based documentary films, video oral history projects, archival research, and combinations of all the above. Rockhouse Mountain Productions is a division of the Rockhouse Mountain Institute.

Andrew grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, but left for school in Vermont and New York City.  After graduating from the American Studies program at Columbia and a brief stint living in Asheville, North Carolina, Andrew returned to New England to research northern country music  traditions.  In addition to directing and co-producing The Eventful Life of Al Hawkes, Andrew has produced oral history and archival projects for Spindleworks Art Center, provided technical support for the Bluegrass Music Pioneers of Maine video oral history, and worked as a consultant for the Franco-American Collection at the University of Southern Maine.  He is a board member of the Maine Film & Video Association, Five Rivers Arts Alliance, and the Maine Arts Commission Traditional Arts Committee.  

 

Alyce OrnellaAlyce Ornella
Producer/Editor

Originally from the Ohio River Valley,  Alyce graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and  then moved to Maine in 2004.  She works as an artist mentor at the Spindleworks Art Center in Brunswick and has released several recordings of music on Portland’s l’animaux tryst label.  As the editor for The Eventful Life of Al Hawkes,  Alyce focused on utilizing dozens of hours of archival film and audio from a wide variety of sources to illustrate the story of Event Records and Maine country music.  She is a board member of the Maine Arts Commission Traditional Arts Committee.
